EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS

Green Driving America is making a difference in how people drive and what they drive. The organization has been focused in several states to implement funded educational projects showing student and adult audiences the compelling benefits of green driving. These projects have ranged from idle-free studies/campaigns at schools, smart driving practice presentations for students and adult audiences, and plug-in vehicle presentations.

 

These projects, combined, yield the following benefits:

• reducing CO2 emitted into the atmosphere that impacts our climate

• reducing fossil fuel energy consumption

• improving air quality and health

• saving money in fuel and maintenance costs

• reducing vehicle idling on school grounds with idle-free campaigns

• how driving a low- to zero-emission vehicle will extend these benefits

• how being a smart driver equates to being a safer driver

For Elementary, Middle, and High School STEM and Social Studies Classes, and Environmental Clubs / Green Teams

 

Funded environmental and health project: student-led*, measured idle-free studies/campaigns to address the harm and waste of largely unnecessary vehicle idling on school grounds in four steps over six to 10 weeks in a school semester.

A Developing Project for Vermont Town Energy Committee Audiences with a Planned Roll Out for 2027

 

Ten to 15 webinar or in-person presentations that will show Vermont drivers smart driving tips, especially for light-duty gas-powered vehicles, including accelerate and brake smoothly, watch speed, and avoid unnecessary idling. Win-win benefits for the environment, health, and saving money.

For High School STEM and Social Studies Classes, and Driver Education Classes

 

The Clean Transportation Path© project has implemented funded guest-speaking classroom presentations in Vermont in the 2021-2025 school years.

 

This project has offered two webinar presentations:

• The Clean Transportation Path presentations, have been intended for high school STEM and social studies classes with students gaining knowledge of the benefits of low- to zero-emission transportation.

• Smart Driving from the Start© presentations have been intended for driver educators/driving schools with students being shown the benefits of smart driving practices in gas-powered vehicles along with an introduction to low- to zero-emission vehicles.
